This fall, a group of 10 highly accomplished scholars and artists will begin their year-long Distinguished Visiting Scholars (DVS) program within the College of Arts and Sciences at UB. Their work will help to elucidate social inequality and advance social justice to the university and Buffalo community.
Oren R. Lyons, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of American Studies, will receive the President’s Medal in recognition of extraordinary service to the university. UB alumna Agnes Williams, an internationally regarded advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental justice, will be presented with a SUNY honorary doctorate.
