JASPER (Joint Attention, Symbolic Play, Engagement, and Regulation) is a play based treatment approach that targets the foundations of social communication and uses naturalistic strategies to increase the rate and complexity of social communication.
It is designed to increase a child's play skills, language and engagement with others. While researched and designed for children with autism spectrum disorders, it has proven to be a beneficial structured language intervention for children with a variety of disorders/delays that could benefit from increased joint attention, play and language skills.
