Beijing Graduate Exchange Program

Graduate students and faculty at the Great Wall of China.

Since 2010, the Department of Art has collaborated with major universities in Beijing on academic exchange programs.

From 2011 – 2012, the Department of Art and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) conducted an intensive graduate level academic exchange focused on developing cross-cultural art collaborations, resulting in two professionally mounted exhibitions of new work, in Buffalo at the UB Art Gallery, and in Beijing at Today Art Museum.

Currently, we are in partnership with the Academy of Arts & Design at Tsinghua University in Beijing to realize a new graduate level program of cross-cultural art collaborations, exhibitions and publications. Every other year, two intensive art/academic residencies take place in Beijing and in Buffalo, involving MFA, PhD and MA graduate students from both UB and Tsinghua, culminating in innovative creative and research projects.

Once you are accepted into a graduate program in the Department of Art, you are automatically eligible for the Beijing Graduate Exchange Program.
