2021 Rumsey Competition and Exhibition Application Now Open

The Rumsey Award provides funding to a sophomore or junior-level BA or BFA ART MAJOR who wish to further develop their artistic practice through summer travel. This is a juried competition where your submitted artworks and travel proposal will be reviewed by the faculty and staff of the Department of Art.

• sophomore or junior-level UB Art BA and BFA
• Department GPA of 2.5 or higher 
• must be returning for the full 2021 - 2022 academic year.

There will be a physical exhibition of the works in the Lower Art Gallery (B45 in the CFA) in mid-spring in addition to an online gallery. All works must be exhibition ready.

This application process is a two-part process. The initial application indicating your interest in participating in the coming exhibition and collecting information about your faculty mentor is open now until January 29, 2021. The second application, for submission of your portfolio, travel proposal, and budget, will open January 15, 2021 and is due February 12, 2021.
