International Symposium of Electronic Art

Video still from "Aquadisia" by Stephanie Rothenberg

Stephanie Rothenberg is participating with her work "Aquadisia" in the International Symposium of Electronic Art (ISEA) held online, Oct 17 at 3pm. This year's theme is “Why Sentience?"

Aquadisia is an environmental sci-fi, created by professor Stephanie Rothenberg, that plays on the libidinal myth of the oyster as an aphrodisiac to speculate on a new breed of cyborg oysters that have the potential to cure climate change.

An online version and performance of Aquadisia, which features  Shasti O’Leary Soudant, Felipe Shibuya, Annette Daniels Taylor and Lindsey Griffith, can be seen on YouTube this Saturday (10/17) at 3:00pm.
