  • CDS attended "A Buffalo Knockout of Parkinson's: fundraiser

    Clinical faculty and graduate students from The University at Buffalo Speech-Language and Hearing Clinic – Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences attended “A Buffalo Knockout of Parkinson’s” fundraiser hosted by Michael J. Fox Foundation board member and former US congressman, Jack Quinn, at The Westin Buffalo on Thursday, October 20, 2022. The program included a panel discussion featuring 60 Minutes and CBS News correspondent, Lesley Stahl, whose husband lived with Parkinson’s disease, and Dean Eoannou, founder of Parkinson’s Boxing. Also included were Allison Brashear, Vice President of Health Sciences and Dean of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo and Mark Frasier, Co-chief Science Officer at The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
  • Dr. Stipancic receives ASH Foundation Grant

    Dr. Kaila Stipancic, a post-doc fellow who will join the CDS faculty team in the Spring semester of 2023, has received a New Investigators Research Grant from American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (ASH Foundation).
  • Students and Faculty Participated in Parkinson's Moving Day 2022

    Laura Roberts and Chris Heffner joined 30 undergraduate and graduate CDS students at Parkinson's Moving Day 2022. They helped advocate for and provide community education on Parkinson's Disease. The UB Team was able to raise $746.15 for the Parkinson's Foundation to support Parkinson's Disease research and programs.

  • Alumna Major Virginia Best Bailey speaks with AuD students

    Major Virginia Best Bailey is an AuD alumna. She was the first graduate our the combined AuD/MBA program, and the first president of the national Student Academy of Audiology. She completed her fourth-year externship at Walter Reed Military Hospital. She continues to serve as an Army Audiologist and recruiter.
