Affiliate faculty Jenifer Barclay's book, The Mark of Slavery: Disability, Race, and Gender in Antebellum America, is being released by University of Illinois Press this month! To celebrate, the press is holding a virtual book launch event, featuring Dr. Barclay in conversation with Stefanie Hunt-Kennedy, author of Between Fitness and Death: Disability and Slavery in the Caribbean and Daina Ramey Berry, author of The Price for Their Pound of Flesh: The Value of The Enslaved, From Womb to Grave, in the Building of a Nation. The event will be held April 13 at noon ET.
