In early April, the Center for Disability Studies and the UB Poetry Collection hosted poet Michael Davidson. Dr. Davidson delivered a reading on April 9 at the Western New York Book Arts Center, followed by a lecture entitled "Invalid Modernism: Disability and the Missing Body of the Aesthetic," in the UB Poetry Collection on April 10. 

Dr. Michael Davidson is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at University of California, San Diego. He has written numerous books, including most recently Invalid Modernism: Disability and the Missing Body of the Aesthetic, published by University of Oxford. He has also written six books of poetry, with his most recent work entitled Bleed Through: New and Selected Poems (Coffee House Press, 2013).
