Why study abroad?

Studying abroad isn’t just about travel. It’s about:

  • Immersing yourself in another culture
  • Learning in the field (not just the classroom)
  • Gaining confidence and independence
  • Building global awareness and empathy
  • Strengthening your résumé with international experience

From semester-long programs to short winter intersessions, UB students take their learning global—often with scholarship support to help make it happen.

Program options

UB offers 80+ study abroad programs, with 500+ more across the SUNY system. Programs can be:

  • Faculty-led or independent
  • Short-term or semester-long
  • Scheduled during the semester, summer, or winter intersession

You can even participate in international internships or remote global projects from wherever you are.
