Uncertainty in Geo-science: A Workshop on Hazard Analysis

Workshop banner.

Date: March 15-17, 2016
Place: 101 Davis Hall

Workshop is co-sponsored by National Science Foundation, USA and the Center for Geological and Climate Hazards, University at Buffalo, SUNY and is organized in collaboration with Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Global Volcano Model (GVM) and Global Earthquake and Volcanic Eruption Risk Management (G-EVER). This workshop will feature a combination of lectures by experts in probabilistic modeling of volcanic hazards and other natural hazards, and hands-on work/ tutorials with modeling tools including the use of many tools on the vhub platform. Time will be split between lectures and hands-on work, and there will be ample time for one-on-one and small group interaction. The workshop is aimed both at graduate students, postdocs, and experienced researchers who desire to learn more about probabilistic volcanic hazards tools for their own work and teaching.
