  • Mourning the Loss of Gordon Gross

    The Department of Jewish Thought has just received sad news about passing of Mr. Gordon Gross, LLB -- may his memory be a blessing. His philanthropic contributions strongly supported and helped bring to fruition the University at Buffalo vision of creating a nationally and internationally leading Department of Jewish Thought. His legacy of supporting the cutting edge scholarship on the role and importance of intellectual achievements of the Jewish tradition for the humanity at large continues to be exemplary and will have a lasting effect on the advancement of academic scholarship of Jewish Tradition.
  • Blind Date With a Jewish Book: Second Edition With a Yizkor Book?

    Our second blind date with a Jewish book took place in March.  This time, the presentation was by Dr. Theodore Steinberg, distinguished professor emeritus of the faculty of English at SUNY Fredonia, and, since his retirement, a beloved teacher in the local community.
