Megan Kyle performs as a soloist, improviser, chamber musician, and orchestral musician throughout Western New York, with a particular interest in resonances between early and recent music.

As a teacher, she cultivates technical fundamentals in a reciprocal partnership with creative musical ideas. She works to equip her students with the tools to explore and successfully communicate their singular artistic voice.

Megan is a member of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. She regularly performs as a substitute with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and has also appeared with the St. Louis Symphony, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, and the New World Symphony in Miami, among others. She was previously a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

As a chamber musician and new music specialist, Megan performs and creates with new music ensemble Wooden Cities, musical research group Null Point, voice/oboe duo Senso di Voce, and oboe/piano/violin/cello quartet The Evolution of the Arm.

Megan holds a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from DePaul University (2013), as well as a BM in Oboe Performance and BA in English from Oberlin Conservatory and College (2011). Her principal teachers were Eugene Izotov, Robert Walters, Alex Klein, and Louis Rosenblatt.

Her most recent recording is the Senso di Voce album through itself, released September 2025 on Sonic Transmissions Records. Senso di Voce’s previous album of improvisations with Henry Birdsey, Tierceron, was released in July 2023 on Other Minds Records. She also has multiple recordings with The Evolution of the Arm and Wooden Cities on Infrasonic Press.

Megan performs frequently with the Slee Sinfonietta, the chamber orchestra in residence at SUNY at Buffalo.
