Professors Jon Nelson, trumpet, and Tom Kolor, percussion, release Secret Messages, a collection of works for duo by Moshe Shulman, Dave Ballou, Jeffrey Stadelman, Dafnis Prieto, and Emil Harnas.
Following on the heels of her performance with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective and Hilary Hahn at Wigmore Hall in London, UB Professor Melissa White makes her Carnegie Hall debut with pianist Nargiz Aliyarova, playing a concert dedicated to Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev that also includes music by Brahms, Beach, and Chopin.
The two-day multi-disciplinary performance art tour involved faculty and students from UB’s College of Arts and Sciences and took place over several hours on April 26 and 27. This was the first iteration of Inhabiting Spaces, which is intended as a multi-year project involving faculty, students, and community partners. Arts Management student Lili Stern assists with production management and event coordination.
Prof. Guerra has been awarded a $4,082 grant by UB’s Office of International Education to support his research into the folk guitar tradition in Brazil known as “Choro.”

Associate Professor of Music Jonathan Golove has been appointed Artistic Director of the Center for 21 Century Music and June in Buffalo through June 2026. Prof. Golove succeeds longtime Center and June in Buffalo director David Felder who retired from UB this past spring.
