Violinist and UB Professor of Music, Melissa White, a member of the Harlem Quartet, has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Classical Compendium. The recording is a collaboration between the Harlem Quartet and Imani Winds – the leading North American woodwind quintet. The recording is of composer Jeffrey Scott’s album length work “Passion for Bach and Coltrane” a collection of original arrangements and newly composed music tying together the work of the seminal Baroque composer with the mid-20th century Jazz great. Jeffrey Scott will be joining UB’s faculty beginning in fall 2024.
