The UB Chamber Singers, directed by Associate Teaching Professor and UB choirs director Claudia Brown, have released their first album, "When the Earth Stands Still." This exciting debut is available on Spotify, iTunes, and other digital music platforms, as well as in CD format.
Recorded and produced by Chris Jacobs, the Department of Music’s sound engineer, the album showcases the talent of 12 student singers performing a cappella works that span centuries. The collection features Renaissance masterpieces by composers such as Tomas Luis de Victoria, Hans Leo Hassler, Orlando di Lasso, and John Dowland, alongside contemporary choral works by John Tavener, Don MacDonald, Dan Forrest, and Eric Whitacre. Seasonal favorites include arrangements by Reginald Jacques, Charles Wood, and Gustav Holst.
The album concludes with a special rendition of "I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas," arranged by UB Department of Music alumnus Sam Kessler, offering a heartfelt nod to the holiday season.
Congratulations to the UB Chamber Singers on this remarkable achievement!
