Lisa Robertson, an internationally renowned Canadian poet, feminist and essayist, will be the featured speaker for UB’s third annual Robert Creeley Lecture on Poetry and Poetics at 5:45 p.m. April 12.
The possibility for change ultimately rests in recognizing the roots of the system and how each city is comprised of elements that include unique histories, spaces and policies, according to Kevin T. Smiley, assistant professor in UB’s Department of Sociology.
Barry Smith, SUNY Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and director of the National Center for Ontological Research at UB, says the idea of capability is tremendously general and worthy of critical examination.
Fifteen UB students have received 2018 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. The awards were presented by SUNY Chancellor Kristina M. Johnson at a ceremony April 10 in Albany.
