To enhance the understanding of China’s record in Africa in comparison with those of Europeans and Americans, experts from leading universities and research institutes will gather on April 26 for a daylong symposium, “China in Africa: Global Perspectives.”

The fund supports commercializing the inventions and discoveries of UB faculty and students, enabling university scientists to develop prototypes, conduct efficacy studies and complete other projects that demonstrate the market potential of their technologies

Annette Cravens, MSW ’68, emphasized community outreach when she donated her world-class collection to the College in 2010 — specifically outreach to K-12 students.

UB faculty member and soprano Tiffany Du Mouchelle will perform on May 6 in a concert featuring two of her students, Taryn Goehrig and Isabella Ruof.

UB vice presidents Michael E. Cain and Laura Hubbard, and English faculty member Cristanne Miller will receive the UB President’s Medal in recognition of extraordinary service to the university.
