Bio: I am a PhD student at the Department of Sociology at the University at Buffalo. I'm interested in the intersection of work, urban and environment; specifically in the negative impacts of industrial activity, such as exploitation of people and nature as well as multiple forms of inequality. I have worked as a labor organizer and educator at unions and immigrant organizations in NYC, producing art and education projects to document and raise awareness on workers issues. Currently, I investigate the social, urban and environmental implications of the Tourism Industry in the Mexican Caribbean.
