Bridget Scott.

October 2015: Bridget Scott

Bridget’s fascination with “how the unique lives of individuals come together to form a society and, in return, how the society affects those individuals” led her to select sociology as her major. She feels that studying sociology at UB has led her to look at “everyday situations in a sociological way” and has helped her better “understand the world and people” around her.

Bridget has put her sociological knowledge to work in the many internships she has done. She has worked with a local adoption agency, in the patient advocacy department of a local hospital, and is now interning with the Make-A Wish Foundation. Each of these experiences has inspired her desire for further study and she has especially enjoyed her work with Make-A-Wish, saying: “working with a nonprofit organization such as Make-A-Wish has led me to believe I have found a true passion.”
