Video Audition and virtual Information session

UB Video Submission
You will record yourself dancing a short improvisation and three movement phrases taught by our faculty in modern, ballet, and jazz that you have learned through the video link sent to you once you have registered for an audition. You will then submit 1 single video of you dancing these movement phrases in the form of a link (vimeo, youtube) or file (mp4, other). Please be sure to choose a safe space in which to dance. Please wear clothes that allow you to move in all four dance genres and that allow us to see your dancing clearly. Wear dance shoes appropriate to your space.
Deadline: Video submission is due two weeks after you’ve registered for the video audition.
The video submission is accompanied by a live virtual presentation and Q+A with UB Dance Faculty.

You may also skip the section for video uploads, as your video audition was reviewed by our faculty via DanceWave

*Prospective students who receive a fee waiver for the university application process are exempt from this charge.
Live Audition Format:
9:00am – 11:00am Modern, Improvisation, Ballet and Jazz segments
11:00am - 11:30am Informal student interview with faculty
11:30am – 12:00pm Informational session and Q+A
Please plan to wear clothes that you can move in and that allow us to clearly see your dancing.

UB Dance invites high school juniors, who are considering studying dance in college, to participate in the audition process during our February 11th, 2022 undergraduate audition. Taking part in this audition is a way to gain experience and an understanding of what to expect in the college audition process. Develop the confidence and skills needed for your upcoming senior year auditions by attending! Students will fully participate in the 2-hour audition class and will receive individual feedback from a UB faculty member directly following the audition. Students are encouraged to attend the 30 minute UB Dance information session immediately following.
To register, complete the form below and register under “Junior Audition Experience”.
After your registration fee of $30.00 is received, you will receive a confirmation email.
Please note that this is not an official audition for acceptance into the UB Dance program.
