Use this form to request Biological Sciences major or minor credit for courses that are not already approved in the course catalog or to request special considerations within the BIO program.

Please review the information below carefully. Submitting the correct form helps avoid delays.

Requesting credit for a non-UB course

If you are requesting credit for a course taken outside of UB:

First, check the TAURUS course articulation system to see if the course is already approved.
If the course is not listed in TAURUS, you must submit a course articulation request through TAURUS and wait for a decision.
Only after the TAURUS decision is issued should you submit the BIO Petition Form.

Requesting lab credit for research outside BIO

If you are requesting lab credit for research performed at UB but outside the Department of Biological Sciences, do not use this form.

Instead, submit the BIO Research Petition Form.

I would like a non-UB course to count towards my major. (Only use this form if the course is already in the TAURUS course articulation system and not approved for BIO credit – https://taurus.buffalo.edu. If it is not already in TAURUS, you must submit the syllabus there first.)
