Course Petition Form

Use this official Biological Sciences petition form to request undergraduate major or minor credit for courses not already approved in the course catalog or to request special consideration within the Biological Sciences program.

Before you submit

Please review the information below carefully. Submitting the correct form helps avoid delays.

Requesting credit for a non-UB course

If you are requesting credit for a course taken outside of UB:

  1. First, check the TAURUS course articulation system to see if the course is already approved.
  2. If the course is not listed in TAURUS, you must submit a course articulation request through TAURUS and wait for a decision.
  3. Only after the TAURUS decision is issued should you submit the BIO Petition Form.

Requesting lab credit for research outside BIO

If you are requesting lab credit for research performed at UB but outside the Department of Biological Sciences, do not use this form.

Instead, submit the BIO Research Petition Form.
