Prerequisites

There are a set of prerequisite courses required before beginning the MA curriculum. These prerequisites are often fulfilled with completion of a BA/BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology.

However, students do NOT need to have a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology to be admitted into the MA program. Instead, these accepted students will complete the prerequisites at UB, typically extending their program by 1 year (2 academic semesters). Continued advancement in the MA program is dependent upon satisfactory academic performance (e.g., GPA of 3.0 or better) in the prerequisite courses.
