The award will support the Akimov group’s development of quantum dynamics methods for condensed matter and nanoscale systems, with an emphasis on excited-state processes such as charge and energy transfer.   • John Richard awarded five-year $2 million grant from NIH

    John Richard has been awarded a five-year $2 million Maximizing Investigators' Research Award (MIRA) grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health titled, “Mechanism of Enzyme Action and for the Development of Enzyme Inhibitors.” This grant will fund studies on the mechanism of enzyme action and the development of enzyme inhibitors with potential therapeutic applications.

The award will support the Lacy group’s development of manganese catalysts through the synthesis of libraries of new ligands and the exploration of properties and mechanisms of Mn(I) catalyst complexes.
