  • Research Excellence Program for Undergraduates
    10/6/26
Build your research skills through hands-on experience, faculty engagement and opportunities to share your work. The CAS Research Excellence Program for Undergraduates helps you document your progress and earn digital badges at three levels: Research Readiness, Research Engagement and Research Scholar.

Why build your research skills?

Research takes more than curiosity. Learning how to ask questions, use research tools and methods, analyze information and communicate what you discover can prepare you for opportunities in and beyond the classroom.

Depending on the program you choose, you may:

  • Work with specialized research tools and equipment
  • Develop research and analytical skills
  • Participate in research, creative or scholarly activities
  • Analyze data and solve problems
  • Work with faculty and other researchers
  • Present and communicate your work

These experiences can help prepare you for undergraduate research, internships, graduate or professional study and careers that value research, analysis and problem-solving.

Skills you need. Proof you have them.

Complete a micro-credential or program requirement and you can earn a digital badge issued through Credly. Your badge contains information about your achievement, including the criteria you completed and the skills you developed.

Your digital badge is yours to share. Add it to your LinkedIn profile, digital resume or e-portfolio to show employers, graduate programs and others what you’ve accomplished.
