SRS (Silk Road Songbook): Opening, Artists Talk, and Book Launch

SRS (Silk Road Songbook) is an audio-video installation that weaves songs of resistance into the land, broadcasting women’s distinct, unruly voices on an ancient Eurasian migration route between Istanbul, Tehran, Tashkent, Bishkek, and Xi’an.

The inaugural exhibition of  SRS (Silk Road Songbook) by Millie Chen (Professor of Art, 2020-21 HI Faculty Fellow) and Arzu Ozkal (2005, M.F.A, University at Buffalo) will open at Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center in Buffalo, New York, on Sept 17, 2025, along with the launch of the SRS (Silk Road Songbook) book at the same time!

Publisher Minerva Projects will launch the SRS (Silk Road Songbook) book in multiple locations:

Baran Ehsaei (SRS Chubar) will join us in Buffalo for the Hallwalls opening.

Baran Ehsaei will also give a lecture in the Dept of Music, University at Buffalo on Sept 18 at 3:30pm, 250 Baird Hall.
