Professor Christine Marie has been awarded the 2025 New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) Individual Artist Grant. Her upcoming installation contemplates environmental precarity by examining the interplay between analog versus digital images on the surfaces of a 10-foot cube. Marie will employ multiple overhead projectors, 8mm film, and anaglyph 3D technology to depict the natural world—intermittently challenged by AI-generated digital projections of climate catastrophes. The convergence and clash of these elements invite reflection on the fragility of our environment and the consequences of unchecked technological advancement.
