The Department of Music is pleased to announce the availability of Graduate Assistantships in Music for qualified applicants to our Masters of Music (MM) in Performance and Masters of Arts (MA) in Music History and Music Theory programs.
Associate Teaching Professor Claudia Brown and PhD in Composition graduate Jesse Downs received $5,000 in grant support from the New York State Council on the Arts for a joint choral program honoring the people of Ukraine.
Associate Visiting Professor Tiffany Skidmore received $5,000 from UB’s Civic Engagement Research Fund in support for her proposed collaboration between Buffalo String Works, PhD in Composition students, and the Europe based violin duo, Duo Gelland. Their joint concert will take place on June 5 at 6 p.m. in Slee Hall.
The University at Buffalo Department of Music is very pleased to announce the appointment of Jeffrey Scott as Professor of Music beginning in the fall of 2024. Professor Scott is currently Associate Professor of Horn at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a position he will depart at the end of this academic year.
