Four people sit around a small round table in a blue-walled office, engaged in discussion. A man gestures as he speaks while two women with laptops listen, and a whiteboard behind them is filled with equations, diagrams, and notes.

Build the skills to understand the world — and shape it

The biggest challenges we face are not simple. They involve people, institutions and long-term consequences. Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at the University at Buffalo helps you understand how these systems work and how they can work better. In PPE, you will study how ideas, policies and economic choices shape the world around you. You will learn to connect ethical reasoning with real data, ask better questions and evaluate solutions to complex problems.

If you want a major that helps you think deeply and prepare for meaningful work in fields like law, public policy, business or research, PPE at UB is a strong place to start.
