PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience, UB;
Postdoctoral Fellow
The graduate program in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) at UB provided me with an array of educational opportunities to foster my interest in science. I received hands-on laboratory training to learn and refine the technical skills necessary to explore those interests. In addition to coursework and lab training, I was also able to gain teaching experience, write and publish peer-reviewed papers with my mentor, and present my research at several local and national scientific conferences. All of these experiences made it possible for me to succeed in my current position as a Postdoctoral Fellow. My best advice to students considering a graduate degree in psychology is to choose a research topic that you are truly passionate about, and work with a faculty mentor with expertise in that topic who is committed to helping you pursue your own career goals.
