Psychological Services Center

The Psychological Services Center (PSC) is a training and research clinic for the Clinical Psychology program in the Department of Psychology.

We are dedicated to equipping our graduate students with the skills to provide effective, evidence-based treatments to the clients we serve on campus and in the broader community. Our goal is to ensure that anyone in our community can access high quality services, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, physical ability or attributes, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

We are excited to announce that we are now on the verge of opening of a satellite clinic on South campus. This satellite clinic would increase access to services for individuals who rely on public transportation or may otherwise not be able to commute to Amherst. We are also in the process of establishing a Community Advisory Board (CAB) for our clinic. The mission of the CAB is to reduce disparities in mental health treatment and outcomes, increase the application of mental health related research within the community, and foster stronger partnerships with community organizations. It is our hope that through community engagement, outreach, and fundraising, this satellite clinic will expand access to evidence-based mental health treatment.

If you are interested in learning more, contributing to the remodeling of our new physical space from a standard research space (see picture) into an inviting and comfortable treatment space, supporting our community engagement effort, or getting involved please feel free to reach out to the Director of the PSC, Sarah Taber-Thomas, PhD, via email (tabers@buffalo.edu) or phone 716-645-6888.
