The estate of Wilma J. Newberry, former Professor of Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, recently announced her bequest of more than $280,000 to the Department’s Study Abroad program. Funds will assist RLL’s Spanish undergraduate students with the costs of pursuing their education in Spain. With this generous gift, Dr. Newberry’s devotion to her profession and her love of Spain will carry on through many generations of students to come. Two students have already received awards for Summer 2016 study in Barcelona and Madrid.
