Summer and Fall 2017 Study Abroad Scholarships

• Maria E. Becker Scholarship
• Wilma J. Newberry Scholarship
• Linda Rock Scholarship

Applications due Wednesday, 3/29/17, at 12pm

Eligibility guidelines:

Current full-time matriculated UB undergraduate student in good academic standing

Current pursuit of a major in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures

•  RLL minors are also eligible and encouraged to apply but they must provide proof that they first applied to the William C. & Annette L. Rock Fund for College of Arts and Sciences Study Abroad Scholarship; if they are awarded funds from that scholarship, they cannot receive RLL funds
• Plan to participate in a study abroad program that is full time, as determined by the program-sponsoring institution

The award recipients are chosen based on:

• Financial need
• Academic achievement
• Potential for growth

Applications for Winter and Spring 2018 study abroad programs will be available September 2017 

The following documents that candidates need to submit (in.pdf format):

• A writing sample from coursework in the target language
• A current copy of their academic advisement report (AAR)

Distribution of funds takes place after scholarship awardees are chosen and they provide written confirmation of acceptance to an accredited study abroad program.
