News and Announcements

We are excited to introduce two new timely, flexible minors to our program offerings. Our minor in Nonprofit Leadership is perfect for students who have an interest in nonprofit organizations, community work, leadership, and/or social justice. Our minor in Health and Human Services is an ideal complement to many UB majors, providing students who plan to work in the health professions or in social or human services witha range of skills and experiences germane to their future careers. Both minors are 18 credits and feature a wide variety of course options.
We are pleased to announce that Sarah Internicola (Urban and Public Policy Studies) is the most recent winner of our Study Abroad Award! Sarah will be spending the Spring '20 semester in London with other UB students and faculty.
Congratulations to Health and Human Services major, Theresa Onwuka, who was interviewed by WGRZ about her work planning anti-bullying initiatives at UB
Congratulations to Matthania Volmy (Health & Human Services; Sociology) on being named IDP's Outstanding Senior for 2019! We wish Matthania, pictured here at graduation with IDP faculty and staff, continued success as she pursues her Master's degree in Health Care Management at Marymount University.
IDP honored two outstanding students this year with the 2019 Charles Haynie Memorial Award. Lisa Marcellus (Environmental Studies; International Business) and Helen Bamiro (International Studies) impressed the selection committee with their commitment to social justice and civic engagement. We are excited to see what the future holds for these two scholars and activists!
Congratulations to IDP student Gunnar Haberl (Social Sciences Interdisciplinary – Legal Studies) for being named a recipient of the 2019 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence!
Congratulations to Anna Blatto (Urban & Public Policy), whose volunteer internship with the local community-based think tank Partnership for the Public Good (PPG) resulted in a solo-authored report on segregation in Buffalo!
