The Department of Sociology and Criminology offers a fully online Master of Science (MS) degree in criminology. With supportive faculty and an asynchronous learning model, you can complete the program on your own time, from anywhere.

A grade-point average above 3.0 based on a 4.0 system (or an explanation in your personal statement about why your grades were below 3.0), good fit with the program, and strong letters of recommendation. GRE scores are not required for Master's applicants.

After you submit your UB graduate application, you’ll be prompted to make your payment online by credit card or ACH through Nelnet.
U.S. citizens or current permanent residents may request a fee waiver through the application portal after completing the graduate application and uploading all required materials.
The Criminology MS Program is a fully online program and does not meet the requirements to maintain student visa status. You can learn more about student visa requirements from International Student Services.
