Bio: Tarley's research interests include the intersections of incarceration, stigma, and reintegration, with a particular focus on those who were wrongfully convicted and women in the criminal justice system. She is especially interested in how stigma shapes the experience of formerly incarcerated individuals and their pathways back into society, especially across different racial and socioeconomic contexts. She is committed to connecting sociological research to policy change and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
