Friday, March 26, 2001 at 1:30pm – Dr. Anusha Kedhar, Assisant Professor of Dance at UC-Riverside, will provide a digital lecture about British South Asian dance for upper classmen in DAC506: Aesthetics, Theory, and Criticism. Open to all dancers, Kedhar will focus on material found in her new book from Oxford University Press, Flexible Bodies: British South Asian Dancers in the Age of Neoliberalism. Kedhar is a scholar and practitioner of Indian dance. She was born and raised in Southern California but lived and worked in London, UK for several years as a professional dancer. Her research interests include dance in India and the India diaspora, global political economy, and ethnographic methods in dance studies.
