Yes, many of our students do pursue second majors or minors. The BA programs are the most flexible for students wishing to pursue two majors. It is very challenging to double with a BFA degree, and typically requires more time to complete. That said, many students have completed dual degrees and were also able to engage in university groups and clubs and have very fullfilling academic and social experiences.
To apply to one of our Undergraduate programs, please complete an application to the University at Buffalo, register for an audition or interview, and pay the associated fee. Please note admission to our programs require acception to the university AND by the department of theatre and dance via audition/interview. Auditions for our departmental productions are open to all UB undergraduate students, with exception to those productions featuring the Zodiaque Dance Company. Auditions take place in the semester prior to the production.
Yes. As of fall 2022 the Minor in Dance at UB is now being offered. Details.
Yes. The Minor in Theatre at UB offers study in a broad range of theatrical disciplines covering the artistic, literary, historical, and technical aspects of theatre and performance. Minors take a core curriculum in the fundamentals of theatre, and then choose from a wide variety of courses in their specific areas of interest, including acting, directing, dramaturgy, stage management, theatre studies, or design and technology.
