Auditions and Interviews

Auditions are required for the Dance BA/BFA, the Music Theatre BFA, and the Theatre BFA, Performance Concentration. A Portfolio Submission and Interview is required for the Theatre BFA, Design and Technology Concentration.

Undergraduate Program Auditions and Interviews Requirements and Registration

Applicants to the University at Buffalo interested in auditioning must:

  1. Upload Required Documents and Submit Online Audition/Interview Registration Form
  2. Pay the $30 Audition Fee 
  3. Apply to the University at Buffalo through the Office of Admissions 

Application Materials such as Resumes, Career Statements, Headshots, References, and Video Audition Links (see individual program links for required materials) should be submitted with the audition registration form. Audition fees should be paid at time of registration. Materials will not be reviewed until the audition fee is received. Each video should be submitted as a separate link, youtube or vimeo accepted. Acceptable video formats are YouTube and Vimeo. Should you have any issues uploading and submitting your materials, please contact: td-theatredance@buffalo.edu.

  • Acceptance to any of our programs also requires acceptance to the University at Buffalo and is a separate process. 
  • Transfer students must complete the same process and adhere to the same deadlines as incoming students.
  • Please note that we do not attend the Unified Auditions.
  • There are no refunds of audition or admissions application fees. 
  • Applicants denied admission based on the performance audition cannot apply again until the following academic year.
