Rosalie Jones

As part of THD’s Friday Forum Guest Dance Artists program, Rosalie Jones will provide a master class in contemporary dance-drama of Indian America on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 10:00am. Jones is founder and Artistic Director of DAYSTAR Dance Company. Founded in 1980, DAYSTAR is the first native modern dance company in the United States to be created with all-native performers and specializing in the portrayal of the personal and tribal stories of Indian America.  The Company has toured throughout the United States and Canada, and in Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey and Dublin, Ireland. The mission of the DAYSTAR Company is to encourage and train Native Americans in the performing arts, and to teach others to approach respectfully the dance, music, culture and art of Native North Americans.
