2022-2023 Guest Dance Artist

As part of THD’s Friday Forum Guest Dance Artists program, William Thomas will provide a ballet master class on Friday, October 22, 2021. He is a freelance choreographer, teacher, adjudicator, coach, and consultant.  His works have been seen on companies, and in venues, such as Philadanco II, LaMama ETC (Off-Broadway), Kumble Theater (NYC), Danse4Nia Repertory Ensemble (Philadelphia), Ailey Citicorp Theater (NYC), The Thomas Dance Collection (Buffalo, NY),  Danza Una (Costa Rica), Buffalo City Ballet (NY), and The International Theater Festival (Mexico), among many others.  An excerpt of Mr. Thomas’ teaching credits include: Philadanco, Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Buffalo City Ballet, Florida A&M University, Montgomery County Community College, Spezio’s Dance Dynamics, Rochester City Ballet, Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School, Losdenmedium Danza (Costa Rica), Amsterdam Dance Center (Netherlands), Universidad de Guadalajara (Mexico), and formerly at the University at Buffalo, as Head of Ballet, Associate Professor, and the Director of Dance Program.  His performance credits includes works such as Don Quixote (Pas de Deux), The Green Table, and Poulenc Concerto, and shows such as Anything Goes starring Chita Riveria, The Unsinkable Molly Brown starring Ann Reinking, National Tours of Sesame Street Live, and internationally at The Toronto Fringe Festival, The International Theatre Festival in Argentina, and The International Arts Festival in Barranquilla, Columbia, and dance companies such as Off Track Dancers, Webster Dance Theater, and The Thomas Dance Collection.  Mr. Thomas trained at Hubbard Street Dance Studio, Dance Theater of Harlem, Broadway Dance Center, and Dupree Dance Academy, among other places, and holds a B.A./Dance from Webster University Conservatory (St. Louis, MO), and an M.A./Dance from The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH).
