Joyce Dara

Joyce Dara received her BA in Theater and Dance from UB in 1984. Immediately after graduation, she began her performing career in Henry La Tang and Maurice Hines’s production of Cotton Club on Parade and an off-Broadway production of Bingo, directed by Ossie Davis.

Joyce’s professional performing career includes numerous roles in productions such as A Chorus Line, Sugar Babies, La Cage Aux Folles and the National Tour of Cabaret with Joel Grey. She has worked in many TV productions including dancing with Liza Minelli in her TV special, roles in All My Children, and acting in National TV Commercials. When Joyce moved to Los Angeles, she took an interest in Education. She returned to school and received her multiple subjects teaching credential, math supplemental credential and master’s degree in educational administration. Joyce has served the Los Angeles Unified School District as School Principal, Director of Instruction and Community of Schools Administrator overseeing 18 schools in the West LA Area. She is currently retired and living in Palm Springs, California. Joyce loves to spend time quilting, swimming, and practicing yoga.
