Salvatore Messina and Barbara Losardo (class of 1982) relocated to New York City after leaving SUNY at Buffalo, marrying shortly thereafter and merging their dance journeys.

After a brief stint performing and teaching in the secular system, the couple founded King David Dance Company, a touring evangelistic group dedicated to using the God-given talents of its members as a platform for Christian ministry. As their family grew with the arrival of children, they moved the company to Charlotte, North Carolina, and their vision expanded to include King David Christian Conservatory. Originally pioneers in the area of Christ-centered performing arts education, their unique non-profit multi arts training facility maintains a commitment to integrate technical excellence with mission minded community outreach. In their nearly 50 years of mentoring students, it’s been most fulfilling to witness the significant impact their career has had on pupils and audiences alike.
