Amy VanKirk, MFA is an Associate Professor of Dance at Radford University. She originally earned her BFA from UB in 2005. She has had original work showcased at the New York Jazz Choreography Project, American College Dance Association, Ferguson Center for the Arts, Alluvion Stage Company, and at various universities.
VanKirk was commissioned to create an original work, Remember the Future, for the NASA Langley Research Center Centennial Tribute, and created a full-length musical, Keep This For Me: Memories of the Last World War. Amy received her MFA from the University of Arizona where she served as the rehearsal assistant for Ann Reinking’s Chicago Suite. Professional credits include Royal Caribbean Cruises, danahbella DanceWorks, and Artifact Dance Project. Amy’s research interests include jazz dance history, collaborations with the sciences, and Latin jazz fusion. Amy continues to work as a freelance choreographer throughout the United States and serves as a Board Member for Jazz Choreography Enterprises.
