False Horizons
Choreographer: Madeline Dembowski
Music: “Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Sera, Sera)” by Doris Day, “Waltzing in Dreamland” by Alan Moorhouse, “Sh-Boom” by The Chords
Dancers: Marjorie Charles, Madeline Dembowski, Lauren Jezioro, Mario Liguori, Giannina Maresca, Jane Norris
Director’s Notes: False Horizons explores the journey of unveiling the truths of society as we age from the hopeful optimism of childhood where we imagine a life of happiness and abundance, to the darker realities we experience throughout adulthood. This piece explores the societal pressures that force individuals into conformity and how people are often led to pursue hollow ideals, shaping their lives around the idea of a better tomorrow, instead of the now. Thank you to my talented cast, for trusting me with this process and diving deep into the explorations of this work. You all have light within you!

Dancers: Majorie Charles & Makayla Garrett
Director’s Notes: for my father and my mother
as we hold on…
Choreographer: Charity John
Music: “Friendships” by Pascal Letoublon, “Hold On” by Alexia Evellyn
Dancers: Charity John & Dani Schofer
Director’s Notes: “as we hold on…” is a reflection on the bonds that shape us and the complex journey of maintaining friendships. In a world of constant change, friendships require us to adapt, stretch, and sometimes let go. Through movement, we capture the push and pull, the joy and strain, of holding onto those we care about. This piece is a tribute to the resilience and vulnerability of friendship—the ways we support, challenge, and ultimately help one another grow. I hope it resonates as a reminder of both the strength and fragility that come with staying connected.
Branches
Choreographer: Joshua Ikechukwu
Musician: Dantrae Alonso
Vocalist: Precious Alamu
Music: “Big Bang” by Dantrae Alonso, “Kitalé” by Sam-One, “Low (feat. T-Pain)” by Flo Rida, “Voodoo” by Geoff Bennett
Dancers: Bella Guerruci, Annabella Hopkins, Rachel Hunt, Lauren Jezioro, Mackenzie Leone, Bolun Li, Kiera McHerron, Aniyah Mungo, Mackenzie Paulter, Larisa Rivera Vasquez, William Schmidt, Mya Tran, Audree Woods
Set Design: Jenn Lynn Carter
Director’s Notes: Just as branches of a tree point to different directions, so also the dancer’s body can embrace dynamism. “Branches” is a work in progress that critically and carefully asks questions, and in the long run suggests solutions based on experimental approaches on the ‘Adaptability and Vulnerability’ of Dancers and their bodies when they come into contact with new dance styles. “Branches” is performed by dancers with little or no experience or expertise in the selected styles of dance. The goal is to develop and strengthen a dancer's level of adaptability in rehearsal and performance. Sit back and relax as we take you through.
