Left quad. Right quad. Lunge. A girls indoor soccer team warms up. From the safety of their suburban stretch circle, the team navigates big questions and wages tiny battles with all the vim and vigor of a pack of adolescent warriors. A portrait of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for nine American girls who just want to score some goals.
The Wolves premiered in a production by The Playwright's Realm at The Duke on 42nd Street Theater in New York City in August 2016 under the direction of Lila Neugebauer.
“A delightful meditation on society, sex, and soccer.” – The Village Voice
“The scary, exhilarating brightness of raw adolescence emanates from every scene of this uncannily assured first play by Sarah DeLappe.” – The New York Times
“The Wolves” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc.

Content warning: The play includes discussions about sexism, racism, genocide, abortion, body image, alcoholism/substance use, and implied sexual assault, eating disorder, and suicide. It also features harsh language, a homophobic slur, and xenophobia.
The production embraces a stripped-down aesthetic. No lighting or set design, and minimal props and costumes --- effectively, conditions which mirror those which Shakespeare’s players worked in. Elizabethan actors often had only four days of rehearsal. According, our actors will take the stage with script in hand – holding scrolls upon which are their parts so they might reference as they act.
Henry VI ii has 52 named parts. Our actors will play between four and six roles each. In addition, each will be cast in two “tracks.” Before every performance, a coin flip will determine which track they play for that performance, ensuring that every performance will be unique.
As the production develops, director Dr. Danielle Rosvally is documenting the behind-the-scenes process on TikTok at: http://www.tiktok.com/@yassifiedshax (look for “Directing Henry” in the video banner).

A sidesplitting sendup of greed, love, revolution (and musicals!), in a time when water is worth its weight in gold.
Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, “Urinetown” is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms.
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, “Urinetown” is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, “Urinetown” catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
The musical "Urinetown" is rated PG-13, with parental guidance suggested for ages 13 and below due to some humorous adult innuendos and mild profanity.
“Urinetown” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
