    A Painting Exhibition in the Center for the Arts, by students in Faculty Becky Brown's advanced painting courses.
  • Spring Into Art 2024

    On Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, a cross-disciplinary showcase of creativity and expression took place in the  Center for the Arts. "Spring Into Art" was organized by The Center, and the Department of Art featured a group exhibition of international artists guests associated with FEMeeting Buffalo: 2024 in the Project Space (CFA Room 155); Open viewing of the Senior Thesis group exhibition "Supreme" in Lower Gallery (CFA Room B45); a printmaking station led in the CFA Atrium by Department Staff and students, and a first of its kind in recent memory: Student Art Sale.
  • UB Artists in "Live on Five", Buffalo Arts Studio fundraiser auction
    4/11/24
    Live on Five—the big auction of small works—made new each year by the artists who make it possible. Hundreds of 5” x 5” pieces, all starting at $25, by a diverse mix of coveted local artists will be on view and up for auction. Come see the work at the opening reception on Friday, March 22, pick your favorites, and strategize your bidding plan. And don't forget - your bidding number is your ticket for the live, in-person auction and reception on Saturday, April 13. 
  • Release of Victoria Udondian's Monograph "How Can I Be Nobody"
    4/16/24
    Launch of Victoria-Idongesit Udondian’s monograph, How Can I Be Nobody (Hirmer Publishers, 2024), edited by Sylvester Ogbechie, Ph.D. The publication follows her 2022 solo exhibition in Smack Mellon’s main gallery space, in New York City, featuring a site-specific installation that combines woven textiles, sculptures, and sound.
  • 2023 MA Alum, Tiffany Gaines, Article Series in Hyperallergic Magazine

    This is part of the 2023/24 Emily Hall Tremaine Journalism Fellowship for Curators and the second of three posts by the author, the third of which will be an online exhibition published on Hyperallergic and sent to all newsletter subscribers.
