Sama Waham, assistant professor in the Department of Media Study, will debut her newest feature-length hybrid documentary, "Ki~Bé ~ Giš," this September at the Camden International Film Festival in Maine.
Blending documentary and fable, "Ki~Bé ~ Giš" is rooted in the 2019 uprisings in Iraq and told through a diasporic lens. The film explores themes of identity, displacement and justice, offering a poetic narrative that crosses personal and political boundaries. The Camden International Film Festival is one of the country’s top venues for nonfiction and experimental cinema.
