Graduate Geology Club

The UB Graduate Geology Club, officially known as the Geology Graduate Student Association, represents the graduate students of the University at Buffalo Department of Earth Sciences. Funded by the UB Graduate Student Association and supplemented by our own fundraising efforts, the GGSA is dedicated to enhancing the academic, social and professional experiences of earth sciences students at UB.

What We Do

We provide opportunities for UB Geology students to explore and enjoy earth sciences beyond the classroom through a variety of activities, including:

  • Field Trips: Explore fascinating geological sites and phenomena.
  • Tutorials: Organize and conduct educational sessions for graduate students.
  • Community Engagement: Volunteer at local schools and community events to inspire future geologists.
  • Social Events: Build connections with fellow students at events like our Annual Winter Party, cookouts and other gatherings.
  • Safety Training: Prepare students for fieldwork with essential safety training sessions.

Get Involved

The Graduate Geology Club fosters a vibrant and supportive community, and we’d love for you to join us. Whether you’re a new or returning student, our events and meetings provide an excellent opportunity to connect with peers, learn, and make the most of your time at UB.

We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting or event!
