Amanda Suchy is an urban and aquatic biogeochemist who is interested in understanding how the movement and distribution of water affects ecosystem functions in cities. To fully understand the biogeochemistry of cities, we need to explore not only how human behaviors and decisions affect the environment but also how the environment may shape human behaviors that in turn affect environmental outcomes. In this talk, she will present research conducted at the Central Arizona Phoenix and Baltimore Ecosystem Study Long Term Ecological Research sites, the lessons learned from these projects, and future research directions.
