This presentation will provide an overview of DEC’s Natural Resources program in Region 2 (New York City). NYC’s natural resources are diverse and unique, and of high value to many of the more than 8.7 million people who live in the area. The Region 2 Natural Resources unit of DEC is composed of Forestry, Marine Resources, Wildlife, Habitat, and Fisheries programs and while all share management concerns largely related to NYC’s dense population, each program performs unique tasks in managing NYC’s natural resources for all New Yorkers.
